Taghi Rahmani

Biography

I am Seyyed Naghi Rahmani, born in Zanjan in 1981, forty-three years old, and I have been engaged in this work for twenty-two years. I came to Master Hamid Najafi to learn this work. I received the UNESCO International Label. I received the Label of Authenticity three times in our own country. I call it the Label of Authenticity of the Product, the quality of the product. The tapestry is made entirely of silver. Then these delicate and thin threads that you see, we call them tapestry. Then with these, we now make jewelry containers and a series of works that are called tapestry containers or tapestry jewelry. Our first step is this ingot of copper, which we melt and turn into this ingot. Then this ingot is cut into different sizes by our rolling machine. First, if you see that it is thick, we call these the lining and the outer walls. We mount these on the canvas from the first step. Then we again engrave different patterns from a thinner ingot inside it. Inside these patterns, we use these thin silver rods, each of which is a thread. For example, this thread is two copper threads, two thin silver threads twisted together. Then we fill them with these. Then, when it is filled, we mount these on the wax base. When the work is finished, we melt the wax and sprinkle solder powder. We do this under fire. This solder completely melts. They stick all of these together one by one. Then there are the finishing steps, which are cleaning and finishing. These are polished with water and acid and become A very elegant and clean silver white dish. After we filled the large areas, we put these all over these because it is not easy to fix this work. After we melt the wax and fill the inside with these, which have different sizes, between eight and ten sizes. We give them to it, then we fill them inside one by one.
When the work is finished, the places that should look smooth and clean can be made by soldering. In order to remove these, we use this file and then this burr, a finger burr, we completely mirror it. Now it looks much cleaner. These patterns that we use in our dish, in general, we use them in our work. It is all mental.
Some works have names, for example, we have ivy in this or, for example, this is a tulip, a leaf, we call these a flower tower. I mentally integrate these into every work in such a way that something beautiful comes out. For example, let’s say that in this work, I must definitely apply these details, not like that.
They all think that silver has no bad properties. In fact, it has very good health properties. It is antimicrobial and soothing. Now, most of the old utensils that I used to eat in, such as forks or forks, were used from the beginning because they are antimicrobial. Now, as far as we have heard, it is also in history.
Tapestry has been in Zanjan since the Achaemenid era. Now, in the excavations that have been done in historical excavations and historical sites, the tapestries that have been found are more from the Achaemenid era, and this shows that tapestry has been in Zanjan since that time.
